GreenLight releases 1:64 Black Bandit Special Edition

27655___1_64___Black_Bandit_MOPAR_Series_1_____70_Plymouth_Cuda_homepic.jpgIndianapolis, IN (February 22, 2011) GreenLight first introduced the 1:64 Black Bandit Series 1 in 2008, and the production run sold out to GreenLight Distributors before it arrived in the US.  With all stock spoken for it was an extremely collectible and a highly anticipated series.  This fueled a great demand and a popular series was born!

1:64 Black Bandit has been produced in 1:24th and 1:18th scales but the timeless classic 1:64th is back on the pegs with this Special Edition release. The 1:64 Black Bandit Special Edition has continued with the sell out trend with all 15,000 pieces of this entire Mopar casting release being shipped out to Hobby Distributors and Toys R Us upon arrival.

Every car included in 1:64 Black Bandit Special Edition is Mopar (short for Motor Parts), the automotive parts and service arm of Chrysler Group LLC. The term was first used by Chrysler in the 1920s and has been in continuous use ever since. Mopar has passed into broader usage among car enthusiasts as an unambiguous reference to any Chrysler-built vehicle, such as Dodge, Chrysler or Plymouth.

1:64 Black Bandit Special Edition includes:

1964 Plymouth Fury Max Wedge
1970 Dodge Challenger T/A
1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda
1970 Plymouth GTX
1971 Dodge Charger R/T
2009 Dodge Charger Police

Each car is produced with a triple-black theme; black body paint, black interior detail and custom black wheels. The triple-black theme is the distinguishing characteristic of these “outlaw” vehicles. Besides the distinctive paint job each car will feature real rubber tires, metal body chassis, detailed graphics, engines and custom license plates, clamshell packaging, and sequentially numbered base.  Quantities are limited to 2,500 units each, available exclusively through GreenLight Hobby Distributors and Toys R Us in March 2011.
