GreenLight calls ACTION on 1:64 GL Hollywood Series 2
A successful Series 1 launches GL Hollywood into a sequel!
Indianapolis, IN (October 12, 2011) GreenLight’s Hollywood product line has catapulted into star status. Series 2 has a fresh line up of movies and TV shows that have been enjoyed on an international level, as well as their screen releases spanning four decades.
To replicate the cars in this series GreenLight had to work closely with the production studios to collect frame shots and reference images to make sure that each pieces was a custom creation of the actual car from the film or TV show. The cars chosen, originate from a diverse assortment of film and tv and each have their own back story.
NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is a CBS action drama that follows the amusing dynamics of a team, lead by Special Agent Gibbs, and investigate everything from murder and espionage to terrorism. Gibb’s private car is a 1970 Dodge Challenger which was restored by his father and revealed in the “Heartland” episode.
Fast Five; this summer’s blockbuster, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion across borders to Rio where they elude the Rio Police and their 2010 Dodge Charger police vehicle.
Smokey and the Bandit II centers on Bo "Bandit" Darville (Burt Reynolds) a now washed-up has-been living in the past as he takes on another cross country run while driving his iconic 1980 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am powered by a Turbo 301.
Slap Shot is a 1977 comedy about a minor league hockey team called the Charlestown Chiefs; a notoriously losing team from a town that is in financial ruins. Reggie Dunlop (Paul Newman) is the player/coach of the Chiefs and his personal car is a 1970 GTO.
The last two cars of the series can be seen in the 1993 coming of age comedy Dazed and Confused. Kevin Pickford (Shawn Andrews), a senior who’s plans of throwing a keg party are crushed when his parents find out - hop into his 1970 GTO Judge turn on the classic rock and cruise the night getting into mischief while looking for summer fun. Benny O’Donnell (Cole Hauser), a baseball jock, who uses his 1972 Cheyenne to run down unsuspecting freshmen and subject them to the hazing ritual of being paddled.
